Room Hire

The Main Meeting Room is 8.5 m x 8.5 m and offers a capacity of 70.

It is a light room with windows on three sides.

It is furnished with comfortable, upholstered seating with various styles of chair which can be arranged in different ways. There is also a table. The room has sound amplification and an induction hearing loop. All windows are fitted with blinds.

The Rowntree Room is 10 m x 5.4 m and has a capacity of 44. This room benefits from a loop system and the sound system can be played in this room (as well as in the foyer).

It is a flexible space which can be divided with a full-height acoustic screen into two similar sized rooms each with their own entrance.

There is light, stackable seating and foldable tables. These can be arranged café-style, in rows, or in a committee arrangement around a large table.

The room also has a piano.

The Rowntree Room is also suitable for practical activities. At this end of the room it has a sink unit with hand washing facilities.

The Rowntree Room in use for art work; the flexibility of the room and its movable furniture, together with the hand washing facilities is ideal for a variety of activities that need space.

The kitchen is available to hirers of both rooms.

It has a continuous water boiler (45 cup capacity; 200 cups/hour)

It has two kettles, an electric cooker and oven as well as a microwave oven.

There is sufficient crockery and cutlery for up to 50 people (including 40 cups and 30 mugs).

It has a serving hatch to the foyer area.

We have parking for bicycles on site.

There is ample car parking on the Folk Hall car park in front of the building.

There are two buses that serve New Earswick which both stop at the Folk Hall (a few minutes away from the Meeting House). The Number 1 bus runs 7 days a week; the Number 13 runs Monday to Saturday.

The entrance hall and foyer provide additional circulation space and are suitable for stalls and informal conversation.

The building has the usual toilet and cloakroom facilities.

We offer free wifi throughout the building and have a data projector available for hire. A webcam is available for blended meetings. Users provide their own laptop.
